“Earth Day: Touch the Earth”

Reverend Karen G. Johnston, Senior Minister
Dan York, Worship Associate

Just before the Buddha attained enlightenment, so the story goes, he was sorely tested and tempted by the forces of chaos (called “Mara”). His powerful act of resistance was to touch the earth, which vanquished Mara. Bruised and broken as we have made her, our connection to the earth and to the Earth sustains us in these chaotic times. On this Earth Day service, we will explore and affirm this impulse. Rev. Karen is in the pulpit.

Join us for worship at 10 a.m. in person in the Sanctuary, or online. Find the livestream link and order of service on the Live-Streamed Worship page, or go to our YouTube channel.

Following the service, all are welcome to Coffee Hour in the Community Room.

While at the Meeting House, anyone is welcome to wear a mask. In the spirit of caring for each other, please stay home if you have any cold or flu symptoms. Thank you.
